Climbing Club
At the beginning of 2005, we decided to set up a climbing club which would teach the foundations of climbing and help every ability and age of climber to start out. The club is now fully formed with courses running on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The five week period in which the course is run enables climbers to learn everything from knot tying to lead climbing from fully trained instructors.

Students are accepted from the age of five and upwards. We have no upper age limit.
Saturday will see the start of a beginner's course whereas Sunday will become an advance course. Both courses will take place between 5.00pm and 6.30pm. The price for the courses will remain the same at £50.00.

Beginner's course
The beginner's course is for anyone starting out in rock climbing who wants a head start. The course will cover:
Basic bouldering techniques
Safety in a climbing centre
Understanding grades
Basic rope techniques + More
By the end of the course you should be able to utilise the centre at a competent level. Once you complete the course, why not improve your skills with an advanced course?

Advanced course
This course is for people wanting to improve their all-round climbing ability. You must be a fairly competent climber, knowing the basics of both bouldering and rope climbing. The course will offer you an insight into improving your climbing and how to train for climbing. The course will cover:
Advanced bouldering techniques
Lead climbing
Abseiling
Efficient training + More
All of these and more are taught along with games on the walls and team building exercises. The instructors are there to help you overcome any worries you have and will not make you do anything you don't want to.
